but probably not is the result of a collaboration between movers Tere
Parkes, Birgitta Victorson, director Jon Sherman, and composer Kevin
O'Donnell.
The piece looks closely at how authority is established, exposed,
and lost as two women negotiate a menial physical task. Starting
from concrete actions that are gradually transposed before the audience
into dynamic movement, the piece unravels the process of creating
metaphor and meaning. Using tightly choreographed movement alongside
contact improvisation set to music provided by Kevin, Colin Bunn,
and Jon Doyle, the two women listen, cooperate, struggle, and capitulate.
